NAEP LTT Show Promising Results for 9-Year-Old Students with Disabilities
The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) released its Long-Term Trend (LTT) assessment results in reading and math for 9- and 13-year-olds on Wednesday. Results from the 2025 assessment show that 9-year-old students made gains in both reading and mathematics compared with 2022. Reading scores for students with disabilities showed statistically significant increases in 2025 from 2022 scores across each measured percentile bracket. Most notably, the 25th percentile scores rose by 10 points, from 145 to 155, exceeding the pre-pandemic high of 152. Scores in mathematics for 9-year-olds from 2022 to 2025 rose slightly, but were not statistically significant, while those for 13-year-olds remained relatively flat in both reading and mathematics.
