NCSER Opens Grant Competition

The National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER) has announced applications for its From Seedlings to Scale (Seedlings) and Transformative Research in Special Education (Transformative Research) grant programs. Both competitions are open for Phase One projects.

Seedlings grant proposals must focus on translating evidence into policy and practice, while Transformative Research applications must focus on developing and testing innovative approaches to transforming preservice teacher preparation systems.

These approaches must significantly improve the recruitment, preparation, and retention of PreK–12 general and special education teachers, equipping them to deliver high-quality instruction and substantially improve outcomes for students with or at risk for disabilities. Both proposals are due by December 11, 2026.
